--------------------------------------------- Posted by: JonnyQ 05 October 2008 Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know that running BSF and interacting with all of the band members and fans has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. To save costs, however, it's time that I moved BSF off of its dedicated account and piggy-backed it onto one of my other sites. On DECEMBER 01, 2008, Bering Strait Fans will move to its new home at: http://beringstraitfans.jonathankui.com/ The site isn't there yet, but it will be soon. The boards will be (sadly) taken down at that point (due to configuration issues involved with the move). Again, thanks for the great experience and the memories; I hope you've all had as memorable of a time as I have had... In the meantime, please keep visiting Natasha's, Lydia's and Buckledown's websites, Facebook and Myspace pages for the latest information on them... Thanks again, everyone! SO BUCKLE UP FOR BUCKLE DOWN! --------------------------------------------- Posted by: Sasha 07 June 2006 Dear fans! We understand your frustration with the latest Bering Strait news that in fact there will be no more Bering Strait. It's a very sad moment in all of our lives, but it was inevitable. It's been building up for quite some time now. It seemed like being on a ship that got stuck in shallow waters. Everybody on board could still be very enthusiastic and excited about reaching their destination and thinking that it was just a minor set back, but some things are just out of our hands. We've been waiting for that high tide to pick us up but it never came. We just feel like we ran out of resources to continue waiting on that ship and now we have to abandon it, to move on and discover our own places under the sun, our own islands in the see of music. We all could start pointing fingers now and blame the industry and everybody around for what happened, but the fact of the matter is that it has happened, it's irreversible and we have to accept it and move on with our lives. The truth is that we've had such a blast and accomplished so much throughout these years that most people can only dream of and never even have the opportunity to do a tenth of it in their life times. We have been truly blessed to be surrounded by wonderful people that worked hard for our success. And we have the best fans in the world! Thank you guys so much for all your support and love, for 500 mile road trips just to see the band, for “Bering Strait Retreats”, for all the parties you threw for us, for all the cakes baked and beer consumed, for all the “good times” we had together! We all truly became one big family and let’s keep it this way! Now you’ll have even more opportunities to cheer for us as we branch out with several different projects. We still have a lot to say in music. It won’t be too long before you hear about Bering Strait members again. Chances are that some of us will end up working together at some point anyway, so keep your eyes open. We love you and we thank you for your endless support! God bless! Sincerely, Bering Strait. --------------------------------------------- Posted by: JonnyQ 01 June 2006 It is with sadness, tempered with hope... that I report to you some bittersweet news. After much deliberation last week, Bering Strait has decided to part ways, and seek out new projects. This decision was not lightly reached but was the culmination of many, many factors, and was quite amicable. While this news may be distressing in the short term, I believe that the long term will find the members moving forward in bold new directions. Both the band and the management are deeply grateful for all of Universal South’s efforts, both past and present, and are pleased to have been able to work with them for the past several years. At JMK Music, Mike and band would also like to express their deepest gratitudes for the tireless work of Steve Goetz. They are also proud to have been affiliated with the William Morris Agency and are grateful for the many efforts of Lane Wilson and the staff at William Morris, as well as their previous association with Stan Barnett and CAA. The opportunity now stands for the members of Bering Strait to move in new directions, defined by their unique styles of music. Mike Kinnamon and the members of Bering Strait would like to personally thank all of the friends of band who have tirelessly given their feedback and support. While the band’s dissolution is very amicable, he and the band members are looking forward to moving forward into the next phases of their careers and hope that we will all stay with them on the next legs of their journeys. As for this site, this is not the end. At this time, I have neither reason nor intention to take down BSF.com, for the foreseeable future. I’d like to think that many of us on this site have gotten to know each other as warm friends, and over the past few years, a sense of family has also developed among us. We’ve seen babies come (bonnie, TankGirl), children grow (Tyler), and life situations rise and fall. And through it, we’ve had the company of some good friends and musicians, the past and present members of Bering Strait. I encourage all of us to continue to give our continued support to Natasha, Lydia, Sasha, Alexander and Spooky as they continue forward... News of future projects, both collaborative and solo, will continue to be placed here, as the information comes in. In the meantime, please continue to give your support to: Lydia Salnikova http://www.lydiasalnikova.com/ http://www.myspace.com/lydiasalnikova Sasha Ostrovsky http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=6174405 Mike Kinnamon http://www.myspace.com/mikekinnamon http://www.burnlounge.com/mikekinnamon --------------------------------------------- Posted by: Heather 22 May 2006 just got a frantic txt msg from jonny. apparently, natasha's account was also affected by the problems with the boards, but he says that natasha says that she's playing at 8PM at "3rd & lindsley" on may 30th. he also says he'll fix all password problems when he gets back at the end of the month --------------------------------------------- Posted by: Sasha Ostrovsky 01 May 2006 Hi everyone! I don't know specifics, I just briefly got the chance to speak with Mike, but she's here, she's healthy. Was born on Sunday. I'm sure we'll get more details soon. I finally got a minute(should I say an hour?) to catch up here on the board. And I was very touched by your enthusiasm in an effort to make our songs be played on a radio. You are a great team and I think this time we can make it work. Thank you so much for your comtinious support!!!!!!!! Also I want to thank everybody who came down to Nashville to see our show in GEC. We had a blast there and I hope you did too. --------------------------------------------- Posted by: Lydia Salnikova 10 May 2005 i wanted to let you know that, as a follow-up to Gerry House playing a couple of songs off our upcoming album last Tuesday (and Wednesday and Thursday ), Bering Strait will be doing an in-studio interview on WSIX 98 with Gerry House live on Wednesday, May the 11th, at approximately 9:12am CT. we'll talk a little and play a little, hope you'll be able to tune in! --------------------------------------------- Posted by: Lydia Salnikova 05 May 2005 what a dam has broken... thanks guys for your enthusiasm and happy dances! we are so lucky to have such caring fans! --------------------------------------------- Posted by: Lydia Salnikova 04 May 2005 it's a new day and i'm still excited yes, after the DJ played our songs, he commented that the phone was ringing off the hook with people wanting to know who that was. also, in a few minutes (guess who?!) Mike Kinnamon was on the air thanking Jerry for playing the songs. that's when Jerry said that he listened to the album on his way to work and he LOVED it, he thought it was the best thing he'd heard in awhile. they talked with Mike a little bit longer, he praised Mike's hard work and also mentioned what a great job Carl Jackson has done producing the album, that he should win a Grammy for it so there... just in case you weren't already looking forward to the album release on June 28 as far as the single - we still don't know the date yet. but the song should be "You Make Lovin' Fun" --------------------------------------------- Posted by: Natasha Borzilova 29 Mar 2005 hey, everyone! thank you so much, guys, for all your support and passion -- we truly have the best fans in the world and i'm not just saying that, believe me. i'm very happy to announce that i'm gonna have my first child this summer! (very important -- don't forget to breathe!) it's already pretty noticeble and i can't jump around like i used to (sorry, no dancing for a while). so i'm gonna have to take a vacation for a few months starting June, but i wanna reassure ya'll that I WILL BE BACK SOON! Lydia and the guys will make sure that the shows without me are just as wonderful and exciting (we all know how good they are under pressure) and it won't alter our plans as far as the new record in any way. we are still going full speed towards our dreams, just with one more beringstraiter alone for the ride. even though it's going to complicate matters a little, my bandmates, our management and the label are very happy and excited. i'm feeling great physically and emotionally. hope you will be just as happy for me, ladies and gentlemen, and will forgive my temporary absence. ---------------------------------------------
